How Deep the Father's Love for Us

Do you know how much our Father in Heaven loves you?
I know how much He loves me!
He loves me so much that He sent His one and only Son into the world to die a horrifying and humiliating death on a cross in my place.
It should have been me on that cross.
It should have been you on that cross.
But instead, Jesus Christ, free of sin, took our place.
He took our place, dying a death that should have been ours, and three days later rose from the grave ensuring a path for us to live eternally in Heaven with our Lord.
Though we are so undeserving, the Lord's love and grace covers us.

I could continue to attempt to muster up the words to explain 'How Deep the Father's Love for Us' really is, but instead I'll just share the lyrics to that very song.
{If you want to play the song while you read the lyrics, just select it from the music playlist at the right. You'll have to scroll through to get to the song.}
I love the song, although I still have a hard time singing it through for praise team at church without breaking into tears. It really paints such a vivid picture of
our Heavenly Father and His love for us.

If you haven't yet accepted the love Jesus Christ offers to us through His sacrifice, I pray that you will consider today, on this Easter Sunday, giving your life to Him.

How Deep the Father's Love for Us...
How deep the Father's love for us,
How vast beyond all measure
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure

How great the pain of searing loss,
The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the chosen One,
Bring many sons to glory

Behold the Man upon a cross,
My sin upon His shoulders
Ashamed I hear my mocking voice,
Call out among the scoffers

It was my sin that held Him there
Until it was accomplished
His dying breath has brought me life
I know that it is finished

I will not boast in anything
No gifts, no power, no wisdom
But I will boast in Jesus Christ
His death and resurrection

Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom
