Disney World 2010

I've finally edited some of our Disney World photos. As promised, here are some of the highlights from our visit to The Magic Kingdom last week.

The kids did really well! We got to the park shortly after it opened at 9 a.m., and we stayed until it closed at 9 p.m. That's 12 hours! As you can imagine, we did have some interesting moments with our four young kids in tow for 12 hours. After all, with a five-month-old, two-year-old, four-year-old, and six-year-old, and only two parents, there's bound to be a few moments where it isn't all fun & games. Unless, of course, you have perfect children and perfect parents, which we don't and are not.

We had so many people tell us things like, "You're so brave for taking four little ones to Disney World all by yourselves." But we don't think of it as brave, but instead as parenting without fear. There's going to be ups and downs, but it's all memories, and much better memories if you look at life as a daily adventure that the Lord has blessed you with. We certainly don't have all the answers, but our advice to others is to go about living life with young children with a laid back, go-with-the-flow kind of attitude. You'll have so much more fun if you do, and your kids will have so much more fun without having to deal with stressed out, up tight parents.

But back to our day. Enjoy some photos from our fun day! It was a blast, and we definitely will make plans to take the kids back to Disney in years to come!

{As always, click on any of the photos to view them larger.}

Chloe's favorite: Meeting all of 'her princesses,' as she calls them...

The boys' favorite: The Pirates of the Caribbean. And they've never even seen any of the movies. Guess there's just something about boys & pirates. And by the way, Jason and I couldn't believe how much this actor playing Jack Sparrow looked like Johnny Depp. Maybe it was him??? :)

We went on a lot of rides of course...

Met many Disney characters...

Including Winnie the Pooh, and Tigger too! {And notice Jason by the 'Mr. Sanderz' entrance to Pooh's house. An appropriate photo opportunity...}

Gavin slept for most of the day in his stroller, but was held a few times, and I've got pictures to prove it...

Another favorite was the Main Street Parade...

And of course, just spending time together...

Our day ended with fireworks at Cinderella's Castle...

...which the kids watched with amazement, and lots of 'ooohs' and 'awes'...

What a magical place!

The first and last photos are like advertisements for Disney, they are so perfect. I love the filter you used!

Loved your comment about parenting! That is so true ... even if we probably end up in the "up-tight" parenting camp more often than not. Jeff is continually commenting how this or that isn't going "right." I think being an only child of older parents he has a very scewed reality! I agree with you, if we were meant to be perfect parents there would be no parents and the kids would be better off being raised like sea turtles! (haha!) Loved the photos of your trip! You guys looked to have had a ton of fun and a boat load of memories! Brayden was telling me all the stories that Gabe had shared at school! How super fun!
